Experience unique art and Social 
and Emotional Learning education!
CSS will teach through activities- 
providing growth through 
action and engagement.
Not only will it immerse them 
in an English environment,
but it will also cultivate 
their social emotion management ability!

CAASEL是什么?What is CAASEL?

CAASEL(英文“社會情感藝術學習”的首字母縮寫)中心的課程設置結合了哈佛大學兒童發展中心的研究成果以及美國芝加哥大學的藝術情商課綱,打破傳統的課堂教學環境,給學生們提供了一個多元化的活動場所,真正踐行哥倫比亞大學杜威博士“做中學”的教育理念,促進學生情商逐步發展成熟,幫助學生在學術以及生活中取得更高成就。
CAASEL Center (Collaborative for Academic, Arts, Social, and Emotional Learning) combines the curriculum guidelines of Columbia University with the research from the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. It replaces the traditional classroom with a more diversified environment for students to practice hands-on inquiry based learning in order to promote both academic and personal achievements through the development of their emotional intelligence.

What kinds of improvement will they get through CAASEL Summer Camp?

以「情商管理」為主題,我們希冀學員能獲得以下三方面提升

自我修煉 - 促進個體身心自洽:
幫助孩子生理與心理的健康發展,提高自理、自處以及抗壓等等能力。

社群能力 - 促進個體與他人和睦相處:
幫助孩子人際關系的發展,提高溝通、了解、包容及助人的能力。 

生活技巧 - 促進個體與環境和諧發展:
發展孩子思考及解決問題的能力,從生活技能中培養動手能力。


CAASEL summer camp plays a role in strengthening students’ development in three main areas:

1. Self-cultivation – focusing on developing the relationship with oneself.
This program is designed to help children with their growth- both physical and mental. It helps them to cultivate their personal health and to cope with stress

2. Social skill – focusing on developing relationships with people.
This program helps children develop interpersonal relationships and maintain the ability to better communicate, understand, tolerate and help others

3. Life skills – focusing on the relationship with the environment.
This program develops children’s ability to think and solve problems.




參加CAASEL夏令營,孩子每天怎么玩?
What will they do during CAASEL Summer Camp?

1)豐富的特色藝術類課程,讓學生充分發揮想象力和創造力,鍛煉學生的動手能力、開拓藝術眼界,鼓勵學生發現美并培養學生創造美的能力。
2)多元的趣味英語活動,將英語同有趣的戲劇、游戲、藝術等活動相結合,讓學生體驗不一樣的英語環境,提高對英語的興趣。
3)形式多樣的自然探索活動,充分調動學生的積極性,既鍛煉身體、也培養孩子的團隊協作能力。
4)專為中學生開設的編程設計課,讓學生有機會設計、制作屬于自己的無人駕駛汽車!

此外,CAASEL夏令營采取寄宿制,我們也將組織繽紛多彩的團隊及宿舍活動,借此培養學生的生活獨立性與生活技能,強化團隊協作意識、鍛煉領導能力,以期學員在親近自然以及同伴的相處中,更加了解自我,發現自己的閃光點。

1. An enriched, vibrant art curriculum which lets students unleash their imagination and their creativity, enhance their practical abilities, and broaden their art vision. It will encourage the students to discover beauty through art and cultivate their creative abilities.
2. Many interesting activities will combine English with drama, games, art and other activities, so that students can experience various English environments and improve their interest in studying English.
3. Natural exploration activities will ignite the students' enthusiasm! It will build up their bodies and develop their teamwork abilities.
4. Programming and design courses will be available for secondary. These courses will let students have the opportunity to design and build their own driverless cars.

Students will board at the campsite, and there will be engaging team and dormitory activities, that will cultivate students' independence and life skills, strengthen their sense of teamwork, and leadership abilities, so that students can get closer to nature and get along with peers, understand themselves better, and experience personal growth.

Our teachers


孔杰(陶藝教師)
Ceramics teacher: Jacob Cohen-Rosenthal

孔杰老師曾就讀于阿爾弗雷德大學(擁有美國最好的陶藝專業)與本寧頓學院。他在江西景德鎮學習陶藝時愛上了中國文化,畢業后也常前往景德鎮提升自我。孔杰老師的個人作品非常關注陶瓷的肌理效果,注重作品成型的過程、主題、靈感瞬間與藝術的觸感。
Originally from Ithaca, NY, USA, Jacob first fell in love with ceramic art when he was in high school. Later, Jacob was accepted into Alfred University, the top ceramics school in the USA. After a year there he decided to move to Bennington College, which also has a strong ceramics program, to be able to pursue a double major in Psychology and Ceramic Art. After a summer program studying ceramics in Jingdezhen, Jacob became fascinated with Chinese culture and made many return trips there to produce artworks. Jacob’s own ceramic artworks have an extreme attention to texture and deal with with the themes of the process, the moment, and the artist’s touch. As a ceramics teacher, Jacob is excited to share his enthusiasm and unique experiences with his students and help them develop their technique and unique area of interest within the art form.


Toni Brown(戲劇教師)
Drama Teacher: Toni Brown

Toni老師出生于藝術世家,畢業于密歇根大學,并通過德克薩斯教育協會獲得了中學文學/語言藝術和戲劇藝術的教學資格。她的教學事業始于表演藝術最為興盛的德克薩斯州,目前,她在福州西湖國際學校執教英語及戲劇已有五年。她依然熱愛舞臺表演,如今將更多時間用于幕后教學、導演與制作,她對藝術仍然充滿激情。
Toni Brown was born into an artistic family. She loves art and music and was a performer when she was young. Toni received her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Michigan with a degree in English Literature and earned her teaching credentials in Secondary Literature/Language Arts and Theater Arts through Texas Education Association. She first began her teaching in Texas at one of the highest performing districts in America. Later she left Texas and relocated in Fuzhou. Toni has been teaching English and Drama at Lakeside for 4 school years. Although she enjoys being on stage now she spends more time behind the scenes teaching, directing and producing, but she is still passionate about the arts.


鄧鵬翔(雕塑教師)
Sculpture Teacher: Dave Deng

鄧老師是位理性的藝術青年,始終堅持藝術創作。他希望學生能夠不斷嘗試、思考,持續創作,通過手作與靈思,感受材質在藝術作品中的獨特作用,體會生活的趣味與美好。鄧老師常常根據孩子們不同的興趣愛好進行指導教學,讓學生在保持較高專注度與熱情的同時,能夠積累創作、學習經驗;在緊張的學習中放松心情,感受藝術帶來的快樂。
Mr. Deng is a rational art youth. He graduated from Shandong University of Art and Design, he never gives up on art. He encourages students to keep trying, to change their mindset, to keep thinking and to create. The students will feel the unique role played by the texture and experience the spice and joy of life through hand making and art inspiration. He believes that art is a subject with a high degree of freedom, so he often gives guidance and teaching according to children's interests and hobbies. In this way students can maintain concentration and enthusiasm, and meanwhile accumulate experience. He hopes students can relax and enjoy in Sculpture Studio.


Jerry Marciniak(3D模型教師)
3D model Teacher:Jerry Marciniak

Jerry M老師持有美國藝術教師資格證,并有著超過25年在芝加哥、中國、土耳其等地教授藝術及英語的教學經驗;曾多次在美國芝加哥擔任學校、圖書館、社區、大型藝術活動的駐場藝術家,并出席當地的電視臺活動,同時還是折紙藝術方面的專家。憑借豐富的跨學科教學經驗,極強的親和力,注重多元的認知方式和創造性思維的培養方式,深受家長及學生的認同及喜愛。
American Art teacher certificate holder. Over 25 years’ experience of teaching Fine Arts and English in Chicago, China, Turkey; He has worked as a teaching artist for schools, libraries, community centers, large arts activity in Chicago and has been a guest on TV programs. Jerry is also a working studio artist and teacher of paper arts. His teaching style, which emphasizes advocating various cognitive style and creative thinking, has been appreciated by parents and students.


黃夢穎(扎染教師)
Tie-dye Art Teacher: Juno Huang

受民間雕塑師父親的影響,黃老師從小就對藝術有著濃厚興趣。她平日里喜愛研究世界藝術史及各種新式手工手作,如蝶骨巴特、環保扎染等。黃老師畢業于山東大學,在福州西湖國際學校工作已有六年。她喜愛FLIS的學術氛圍,樂于體驗不同文化的碰撞;執教小朋友也令她感受到孩童非凡的創造力與教學的樂趣。黃老師希望學生們在CAASEL可以親近大自然,開拓藝術視野,盡情發揮自己的創造力與潛力。
Influenced by her father, a folk sculptor, Miss Huang has been interested in art since childhood. She loves to study the history of world art and all kinds of new handmade works, such as Decoupage, Tie-dye Art and so on. Miss Huang graduated from Shandong University and has worked in Fuzhou Lakeside International School for six years. She loves the academic atmosphere of FLIS and enjoys experiencing the interactions of different cultures. Teaching children also makes her feel the extraordinary creativity of children and the fun of teaching. Miss Huang hopes that students can get close to nature, broaden their artistic vision and allow the full expression of their creativity and potential at CAASEL.
